Maggie Tan "Your Happiness is My Success" Maggie hails from Penang, Malaysia and is fluent in English, proficient in three Chinese dialects (Cantonese, Mandarin, Hokkien) and has good skills in Bahasa Malaysia and the Indonesian language. Maggie Tan graduated Magna Cum Lauda with an Associate of Arts degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. Maggie also completed Business Law, Management & Leadership, Business Communication and Business Statistics at the University of Phoenix. Maggie joined Valva Realty Company in 2004 following her successful work with Richardson Real Estate Services, during which time she worked closely with Georgia Richardson, the 2003 Oakland Real Estate Board President, first as the office manager and later as a sales associate. Prior to her real estate career, Maggie was in the fashion industry as a design pattern maker, working with such firms as The Gap and Levi Strauss where she communicated with their overseas counterparts. She also managed a medical office for over 3 years. All of these past careers have served Maggie well, as she has brought the organizational skills and communication skills she honed in the fashion and health care fields.
